Jeffrey Allan Grant, 38, of Fort Lauderdale has been charged with 40 counts of theft of government property.

MIAMI, FL — A Broward County resident was indicted Monday on 40 counts of theft of government property in connection with a scheme to steal more than 37,000 stamps from the United States Postal Service.
Between Sept. 11-13, 2019, Jeffrey Allan Grant, Jr., 38, of Fort Lauderdale visited 29 post offices in Palm Beach and Broward counties, using 40 personal checks to purchase 37,100 stamps, the Department of Justice said in a news release.
Grant’s bank account had insufficient funds to cover the checks presented for the transactions. As a result of Grant’s theft of the stamps, the United States Postal Service lost approximately $20,405, the DOJ said.
