4 Kids Waiting For School Bus Hit By Car In Royal Palm Beach

The crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday. All four students were taken to the hospital, authorities said.

ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL — Four children were taken to the hospital Tuesday when a driver lost control of their car and hit them while they waited for the school bus, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday on Crestwood Boulevard and Cypress Lake Drive, authorities said. According to a statement made by the sheriff's office, a motorist heading northbound on Crestwood Boulevard lost control of their car and drove onto the sidewalk, hitting the students.

The four students were taken to the hospital for treatment, authorities said. One child is in critical condition, according to a CBS 12 report.

A KUTV report shows a badly-damaged SUV at the scene of the crash, as well as deep tire marks in the grass.

Authorities told CBS 12 the driver may have been impaired, though officials wouldn't confirm if the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
