$5 Million Florida Lottery Prize Claimed By South Florida Man

Joaquin Chavez Gonzalez of Miami won the top prize playing the $20 MONOPOLY JACKPOT scratch-off game.

MIAMI, FL — A 49-year-old South Florida man claimed the $5 million top prize from the $20 MONOPOLY JACKPOT scratch-off game, Florida Lottery said in a news release.

Joaquin Chavez Gonzalez of Miami chose to receive his prize in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $3.56 million. He claimed his prize using a secured drop box at Florida Lottery’s Tallahassee headquarters.

Chavez Gonzalez purchased his winning ticket from Petroleum Enterprises at 5688 West Flagler Street in Miami. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The $20 MONOPOLY JACKPOT Scratch-Off game launched in September 2018 and features more than $407.5 million in prizes, including six top prizes of $5 million. The game's overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.97.
