$5M FL Lottery Prize Claimed By Boca Raton Man

A South Florida man cashed in on the $5,000,000 Cashword scratch-off game, claiming the $5 million top prize, Florida Lottery said.

BOCA RATON, FL — A 61-year-old South Florida man won the $5 million top prize from the $5,000,000 Cashword scratch-off game, Florida Lottery said in a news release.

John Young of Boca Raton chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $3.915 million. He claimed his prize at the Florida Lottery’s West Palm Beach district office.

Young purchased his winning ticket from the Kwik Stop at 1300 Northwest 7th Ave. in Boca Raton. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

A $20 game, $5,000,000 Cashword launched in May 2020 and features eight top prizes of $5 million and 24 second-tier prizes of $1 million. The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-2.91.
