85+ AT&T Cell Sites Upgraded to Provide Faster Data Speeds

Additionally, FirstNet Becomes Locally Available to First Responders at AT&T Retail Locations

AT&T upgraded nearly 90 cell sites in South Florida to help increase data speeds and network performance for customers.

Areas in Miami-Dade County benefiting from the network upgrades include Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Doral, Downtown Miami, Homestead, Kendale Lakes, Kendall, Miami, Miami Beach, Miami Gardens, Miami International Airport, Miami Lakes, North Bay Village, North Kendall, North Miami, North Miami Beach, Redlands, Richmond West, Sweetwater, Virginia Gardens, West Miami, West Miami Lakes, and Westwood Lakes.

“AT&T works hard to deliver a great network experience for our customers, wherever they are,” said AT&T Florida President Joe York. “That’s why we continue to invest in our South Florida networks. Our investments will help customers get the most out of their mobile devices.”

Also today, FirstNet announced important news for first responders whose agencies don’t provide them with a device, volunteers included. The doors to 5,300+ AT&T Retail stores – including 27 AT&T company-owned stores in Miami-Dade and Broward counties – are now open to first responders interested in signing themselves up for FirstNet. This makes the lifesaving technology locally available, both in stores and online.

The launch of FirstNet mobile plans for Subscriber Paid Users lets verified first responders sign up for FirstNet service under a personal account. This helps ensure first responders everywhere can access the power of FirstNet. Both career and volunteer first responders can qualify.
