9/11 Memorials Honor Victims, 20th Anniversary In Miami-Dade
Events throughout Miami-Dade County will honor the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks and mark the 20th anniversary of the tragedy.
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL — Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. More than 3,000 people died on 9/11 and memorial services organized throughout Miami-Dade County honor the victims of these terrorist attacks.
Miami Dade College
To honor the victims of the 9/11 attacks on the 20th anniversary, Miami Dade College is hosting a series of ceremonies and events at its various campuses. Events scheduled include:

- North Campus, 11380 NW 27th Avenue in Miami: On Friday, 9 a.m., the Resilience and Strength Ceremony will take place on the West Lawn Plaza, which is home to two steel artifacts from the twin towers that were donated to the college by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
- Wolfson Campus, various locations: This campus will host the fourth annual 9/11 National Day of Service Thursday at 3:30 p.m. This year, the college is partnering with the nonprofit Clean Miami Beach to serve on a day-long coastal clean-up. The Honors College will also hold a virtual 20th anniversary remembrance.
- Medical Campus, 950 NW 20th Street in Miami, Room 3102: A panel discussion featuring firefighters, emergency medical service members and military heroes recalling the events and aftermath of Sept. 11 will take place Friday, noon to 1 p.m.
- Padron Campus, 627 SW 27th Ave. in Miami, Student Life Breezeway: A reflection board displayed Friday will honor the first responders who risked their lives on 9/11 and will feature two illuminating beams to represent the twin towers.
- Hialeah Campus, 1780 W. 49th Street in Hialeah, Student Services Lobby: Local community organizations will be available Friday at noon to introduce students to multiple volunteer and service opportunities they can participate in to honor 9/11 victims with a Day of Service.
- West Campus, 3800 NW 115th Ave. in Doral, Rotunda near Building 2: A moment of silence will be held at 8:46 a.m. to honor the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
- Homestead Campus, 500 College Terrace in Homestead, Building D Breezeway: Local community partners will offer service opportunities to students Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
University of Miami
The university will host a 9/11 Day of Service Friday, as well as a memorial service that same day from 2 to 2:30 p.m. in the Rock Plaza.

Town of Miami Lakes
The town will plant 2,977 flags on the Picnic Park West lawn, 15151 NW 82nd Ave., Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in memory of those who died on 9/11.
City of Coral Gables
The city of Coral Gables will host a 9/11 20th anniversary commemoration Saturday, 8 a.m., at Fire Station 1, 2151 Salzedo Street. The police and fire departments honor guard will present colors and there will be a bell toll, a bugler, and readings by U.S. veterans.
City of Doral
The city of Doral will host a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony Saturday, 8:30 a.m., at Downtown Doral Park, 8395 NW 53rd Street. The event will feature a wreath laying and moment of reflection.
Hialeah Fire Department
A 20th Anniversary Commemoration will take place at Fire Station 1, 93 E 5th Street, Saturday at 10 a.m.
City of North Miami
A 9/11 Memorial Ceremony remembering the lives lost on Sept. 11 is set for Saturday, 10 a.m., at Griffing Park, located at NE 123rd Street and West Dixie Highway. This event is hosted by the city of North Miami and the North Miami Police Department.
Inter Miami CF
To honor first responders for the 20th anniversary of 9/11, Inter Miami CF will host a First Responders Fútbol Tournament between Broward County and Miami-Dade County on the AutoNation Community Field Friday.
Saturday’s match between Inter Miami CF and Columbus Crew will recognize the anniversary in numerous ways, including featuring the first responders who played in Friday’s tournament, a moment of silence and special patches worn by Inter Miami.
