Alligator Alley Crash Kills Clewiston Man: Police
A 57-year-old man died after overturning his vehicle in a canal near mile marker 37 along I-75 on Monday, state troopers said.
BROWARD COUNTY, FL – A Clewiston man died in a single-vehicle crash while driving through Alligator Alley on Monday morning, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The 57-year-old veered off the road into a canal around 8:27 a.m. on Monday. He was while traveling south on I-75 near mile marker 37 when the crash happened, the news release said.
He lost control of his pick-up truck and drove off the highway into a canal, where his truck overturned. The truck’s interior filled with water while he was seat belted in the driver’s seat. Troopers don’t know why he lost control of his truck.

He was brought to Broward General Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
