2 Found Dead in Southwest Miami-Dade; Man Detained in Investigation

MIAMI, FL — A man and woman are dead and one person has been detained following a death investigation southwest Miami-Dade County, according to media reports.

Police said the man and woman were found dead in the area of the 26100 block of 209th Avenue near Redland, according to NBC 6 South Florida. Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office responded to the scene at about 8:30 a.m. Friday where they found the bodies.

A journalist reporting from a SkyCam helicopter noted seeing a yellow tarp covering a possible body at the scene as of 10:30 a.m. Friday as well as several police and fire vehicles, according to WPLG reports.

A man has been detained as the investigation continues, authorities said.
