Arthur Mays Villas receives laptops, Wi-Fi connectivity as part of AT&T Smart Cities
Laptops, Wi-Fi connectivity to help bridge the Digital Divide for a Miami community
As part of the AT&T Smart Cities spotlight cities initiative, AT&T and Ericsson have provided 60 laptops and Wi-Fi connectivity to the Arthur Mays Villas community center in Miami to help address the Digital Divide. The laptops and internet service will give students access to their classwork while away from school. And adults will have access to web content that can provide enrichment to their lives, personally and professionally.
The AT&T Smart Cities spotlight cities initiative is a nationwide effort to help create impactful solutions for cities, counties and communities.
A smart city is one that uses technology to enrich the lives of its citizens. Providing underserved communities with an opportunity to build competence and skills through technology is one way cities can become smarter and more connected to their citizens.

Miami-Dade County is the first to launch an AT&T Smart Cities Operation Center. The platform gives municipality leadership visibility of their communities' conditions - all from one location and in near real-time. As part of the initiative, AT&T is also working with Miami-Dade County to apply solutions that address intelligent lighting, public safety and smart transportation.
