Ben Carson Rescued From Elevator At Miami Public Housing Complex

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson's trip to a Miami public housing complex took an unexpected turn Wednesday morning.

MIAMI, FL — Miami firefighters rushed to a public housing complex to rescue Ben Carson and his wife from a stalled elevator Wednesday morning, The Washington Times reports.

The Housing and Urban Development Secretary and his wife, Candy, were taking a tour of the Courtside Family Apartments in Overtown when they got stuck inside an elevator for about 15 minutes shortly after 8 a.m.

Carson planned to meet former Miami Heat and NBA star Alonzo Mourning, who's behind the affordable housing project at 1699 NW Fourth Ave. Mourning patiently waited for Carson and his wife outside of the elevator.
