1. Conservative Christian media company Salem Media Group has purchased Miami radio stations WWFE La Poderosa 670 AM and WRHC Cadena Azul 1550 AM. The acquisiton is the latest in a string of radio station purchases on both sides of the political spectrum. La Ponderosa has long been a voice for Cuban exiles in South Florida and the sales mark another shift in the media landscape. (Subscription: Miami Herald)

2. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is bringing its NightGarden back to Miami for the holiday season starting in November 2022. Kilburn Live has teamed up with an award-winning production agency, Fever, for a wide-range of displays, special effects, holograms, and more for guests to enjoy. (Time Out Miami)

3. Fort Lauderdale police launched an investigation Thursday after a 10-year-old girl told staff at a school that a man tried to lure her into a van with candy. The incident occurred between the 1400 block and the 1500 block of Northeast 17th Way, near Bennett Elementary and Sunrise Middle schools, according to officials. (WPLG Local 10)

4. Miami International Airport is on pace to hit an all-time-high record of 50 million passengers for 2022, as Florida tourism continues to recover from the pandemic. The growing aiport now boasts 93 international non-stop routes to destinations including Amsterdam, Oslo, Munich, Dublin, and more. (Miami Today)

5. Luxury streetwear brand Billionaire Boys Club has opened a flagship store in Miami's Wynwood neighborhood. It is the brand's second flagship store with the other one in New York City. Billionaire Boys Club was founded by Pharrell Williams and NIGO and has been around since 2003. (Ocean Drive Magazine)

  • Lin-Manuel Miranda headed to Miami on Thursday to join Democratic Miami Sen. Annette Taddeo and other Democrats running for office for Latino Victory Fund's Get Out the Vote Rally in Miami. Democrats are hoping to recover from losses in South Florida in 2020 this cycle. (Florida Politics)
