Overtown Children and Youth Coalition Hosts 7th Annual “I’m the Boss of My Life” Youth Conference

Empowering Young Leaders Across Miami-Dade County to Take Ownership of Their Future
The Overtown Children and Youth Coalition (OCYC) is set for its 7th Annual “I’m the Boss of My Life” Youth Conference, scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay. This full-day event aims to inspire, educate, and empower youth through interactive workshops, engaging discussions, dynamic speakers, and hands-on activities. Visit: https://overtowncyc.org/ to register.
Now in its seventh year, the conference continues to grow as one of Miami-Dade County’s top youth development events. Last year’s event welcomed more than 340 youth from over 20 organizations across the county from Miami Gardens to Homestead bringing together a diverse and ambitious group of emerging leaders.
Building on that momentum, the 2025 conference made a measurable impact across the community, serving hundreds of youth throughout Miami-Dade County. Dozens of mentors and professionals contributed their time and expertise, leading workshops focused on leadership development, wellness, and career readiness. The experience left a lasting impression, equipping participants with the tools, confidence, and mindset needed to take ownership of their futures. Students are encouraged to sign up for this transformative experience and help shape Miami’s next generation of leaders.
“The ‘I’m the Boss of My Life’ Youth Conference is more than a one-day event—it’s a movement,” said Anthony Robinson, Executive Director of OCYC. “We are intentional about equipping young people with the confidence, skills, and connections they need to take ownership of their lives and future. Each year, we see the impact as youth leave inspired, empowered, and ready to lead.”
The conference provides a transformative experience for youth, families, educators, and community leaders, offering opportunities to explore career paths and entrepreneurship, develop leadership skills and self-confidence, and learn practical strategies for wellness and personal growth.
Participants will connect with mentors, professionals, and peers while participating in engaging, youth-focused sessions designed to inspire and empower. The day will include an opening ceremony and welcome, a keynote speech, interactive workshops, career and leadership activities, wellness sessions, networking opportunities, and a closing celebration.
