Child Found In Miami Gardens

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the family of a 14-year-old boy.

MIAMI BEACH, FL — Police are asking for the public's help in finding the family of a 14-year-old boy who was brought to The Fontainebleau Hotel on Tuesday by a Good Samaritan, who thought the child was staying there. The boy was turned over to Miami Beach police, who have been unable to identify the child's family. Police released a photo of the child on Wednesday.

Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police Department said the child was picked up by the Good Samaritan in Miami Gardens and "made indications he was staying at the beach hotel." The 28-year-old woman who found him took him to the Fontainebleau, but hotel security was unable to match him to any guests.

"Officers exhausted all possible venues and were forced to take custody of the child," according to the Miami Beach police report. Meanwhile, the child has been turned over to Child Protective Services.
