First Floods, Now Heat: Miami Feels Like 108 Outside
Thursday marks the third heat advisory issued for the Miami area since the start of summer.

MIAMI, FL — First floods, now comes the heat. The Miami area will feel like 106 to 108 degrees in some places on Thursday. A heat advisory will remain in effect for Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties until 7 p.m. Officials are asking residents to drink plenty of water and exercise caution.

Meteorologist Andrew Hagen of the National Weather Service told Patch that Thursday marks the third heat advisory issued for the Miami area since the start of summer. But Hagen said that the summer high was recorded way back on May 28 when the temperature climbed to 98 degrees Fahrenheit.

As of 12:14 p.m. on Thursday, the recorded high was only 91 degrees.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue is warning residents to make sure that children and animals are not left in hot cars. First responders posted tips on the agency's social media account to help residents deal with the potential hazards associated with such extreme hot weather.
