WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA — Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a controversial elections bill, which restricts voting in Florida, into law Thursday morning at West Palm Beach International Airport, allowing only Fox News to cover the event, reports said.
All other media outlets were excluded from the nationally televised event. DeSantis tweeted that Fox News had exclusive access to the signing early Thursday.
Others attending the event included members of Club 45 USA, which hosted the event, the Tampa Bay Times reported. According to the Club 45 USA website, it’s a fan club for former President Donald Trump dedicated to connecting his supporters and previous campaign volunteers.

Senate Bill 90 restricts voting by mail and ballot drop boxes throughout the state. The bill, backed by Republican Sen. Dennis Baxley of Lady Lake in Central Florida, requires voters to submit vote-by-mail requests more frequently — every two years rather than every four years.
Registering to vote by mail will also be more involved, as voters will have to provide their driver’s license number or other state ID number or the last four digits of their Social Security number to request a vote-by-mail ballot.

The bill also limits drop boxes to early voting hours, aside from those at supervisor of elections offices, and requires that someone is overseeing them when they’re set up, reports said.
