Free Coronavirus Testing Available For Miami-Dade Children

Miami-Dade Public Schools, University of Miami Health System partner to provide free COVID-19 testing for children ages 4 to 18.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL — Miami-Dade County Public Schools has partnered with University of Miami Health System to provide free COVID-19 testing to all children ages 4-18 in Miami-Dade County. Testing will be done through the health system’s Pediatric Mobile Unit, which will be available in various school parking lots over winter break, according to a news release from the school district.

Testing will be available at the following locations in December:

  • American Senior High School (18350 NW 67th Ave., Hialeah): Dec. 21, 9 a.m. to noon; 1 to 3:30 p.m.
  • iTech@Thomas A. Edison Educational Center (6101 NW 2nd Ave., Miami): Dec. 22, 9 a.m. to noon; 1 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Miami Sunset Senior High School (13125 SW 72nd Street, Miami): Dec. 23, 9 a.m. to noon; 1 to 3:30 p.m.
  • J.C. Bermudez Senior High School (5005 NW 112th Ave., Doral): Dec. 28, 9 a.m. to noon; 1 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Coral Reef Senior High School (10101 SW 152nd Street, Miami): Dec. 29, 9 a.m. to noon; 1 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Homestead Senior High School (2351 SE 12th Ave., Homestead): Dec. 30, 9 a.m. to noon; 1 to 3:30 p.m.

A parent or guardian must accompany their child for testing. Walk-ups are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. Appointments may be made by calling 305-243-2059.
