How Hot Is It In Miami Area?
This week in South Florida may be the stuff of which punchlines are made.

MIAM, FL — This week in South Florida may be the stuff of which punchlines are made. You, know, the ones, How hot is it? "It is so hot … I saw a dog chasing a cat and they were both walking" or "It is so hot ... I saw a chicken lay a fried egg," offers website Just-One-Liners.com. The Miami area and all of South Florida is likely to see temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. With the heat index, the actual temperature may feel like 100 degrees and even 110 degrees at times.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for Miami-Dade County on Tuesday and again on Wednesday through 6 p.m. Such an advisory means that the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a condition where heat illnesses are possible. "South South Florida will likely see above normal high temperatures and heat indices for the next few days," meteorologist Larry Kelly of the National Weather Service told Patch on Tuesday. "Temperatures will be in the mid 90s to upper 90s across the interior."

Kelly added that the worst may still be yet to come.

"The heat index will be above 100 degrees across the region with some areas seeing heat indices approaching 110 degrees," he explained. "This is definitely some of the warmest heat indices we have seen this year so far. As for hottest day of the year, only time will tell as we still have a few summer months ahead of us."
