HOLLYWOOD, FL — For the third time within a year, a South Florida couple has been surprised to find an iguana in their toilet.

“One time it was funny,” Harold Antonio Rondan-Mena, an iguana trapper with Iguana Lifestyles who was called in to help the couple, told Fox 4 Now. “Second time, let’s do something about it - but now, the third time?”

Bruce and Janet Bleier, who recently moved from New York to Hollywood, Florida, never expected they’d regularly find a giant lizard in their bowl. But after three times, they now have Rondan-Mena’s number on speed dial.

“Being relatively new to Florida, I thought it was an alligator. At first, I was actually quite scared, because I wasn’t sure if the thing was capable of jumping out. I felt like Godzilla was looking at us,” Bruce told Inside Edition.

The first time he found an iguana in his toilet was during a late-night bathroom break in October, NBC Miami reported.

Janet discovered the second iguana while vacuuming earlier this month.

"It was Godzilla staring back at me, this was Godzilla the sequel," she said. "They liked to play dead as we learned from the first time, so I just closed the lid and walked out."

The couple found the third iguana just days later.

“Every time I walk into the restroom, I open the lid with apprehension, every time,” Bruce said. “This is twice in the last week, so it’s happening more and more.”

Rondan-Mena shared a video of what is presumably the second time he removed an iguana from the Bleier’s home to the Iguana Lifestyles Facebook page. (Watch the video here.)

In the video, he calls the removal “Godzilla the sequel” and whispers to what he believes was a female iguana, “You’re gonna be mad,” as he approaches it with a tool to grab her.

He added, “Was going to grab it with my hand, but wouldn’t recommend that.”

In a Facebook post, Rondan-Mena wrote, “It is extremely important to look before you sit. Also, make sure your roof vents are covered.”

He added in another post, “Again and again this keeps happening.”

South Florida homeowners hire a professional to remove iguanas from their properties each month, “eliminating the iguanas before they get into your roof or sewer line.”
