Man Bit Head Off Pet Python During South FL Domestic Dispute: Report

A Miami-Dade County man faces multiple charges after biting the head off a woman's pet snake during a domestic dispute, reports said.

CUTLER BAY, FL — A South Florida man faces charges after biting the head off a woman’s pet python Monday morning during a domestic dispute, according to multiple reports.

Kevin Mayorga, 22, was charged with resisting officers with violence, false imprisonment and animal cruelty, Miami-Dade County court records show.

Miami-Dade police responded to reports of a couple arguing at a Cutler Bay apartment complex on SW 210th Street just before 5:30 a.m.

As they approached the apartment, they heard them arguing and knocked on the door, kicking it in after a woman screamed, CBS News reported.

Mayorga tried to close the door, shutting himself and the victim in the apartment, Local 10 News reported.

He was Tasered and resisted arrest, swinging at officers even after being handcuffed and placed in leg restraints, reports said.

The victim told police that Mayorga bit the head off her pet ball python.

“The snake was sitting next to the entry door with its head detached. So, that’s pretty sad,” Judge Mindy S. Glazer said in courtroom video of a bond hearing shared by NBC Miami.
