Miami Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested in Georgia

26-year-old Abdou Seye of Columbus, Ohio, was taken into custody without incident by Cobb County Police and FBI agents in Atlanta

MIAMI, FL — A suspect in the June 16 robbery of a Bank United branch in Miami was arrested in Smyrna, Georgia. Twenty-six-year-old Abdou Seye of Columbus, Ohio, was taken into custody without incident by Cobb County Police and FBI agents in Atlanta. The bank is located at 1099 NW 42nd Avenue.

"The robber entered the bank, displayed a weapon and demanded money from employees. There were customers in the bank, there were no injuries," according to the FBI in Miami. "The amount of money taken during the robbery will not be released at this time. The robber left the area of the bank on foot." Seye was arrested on Friday and charged with bank robbery.

"Seye is also wanted on a State of Ohio warrant also charging him with bank robbery in the Cincinnati, Ohio area," according to Special Agent Stephen Emmett of the FBI office in Atlanta. "He is also a suspect in several additional Cincinnati, Ohio bank robberies as well as one in Mobile, Alabama."

Seye was to make his initial court appearance on Monday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Richard B. Russell in Atlanta.
