Miami Cop Faces Discipline For Profane Trump Face Mask: Report

A Miami police officer will be disciplined for wearing a profane Trump 2020 face mask while voting in uniform Tuesday, reports said.

MIAMI, FL — A Miami police officer faces discipline after wearing a political face mask while voting at Government Center on Tuesday morning, the Miami Herald reports. Officer Daniel Ubeda was uniformed and on duty while wearing the mask, which read “Trump 2020” and “No More Bulls***.”

A photo of Ubeda was shared to social media. According to reports, after seeing the image, Miami Police Chief Jorge Colina said he would be disciplined.

In an e-mailed statement Tuesday, Colina called the incident “unacceptable” and “a violation of department policy.”

The Herald reports that at a Tuesday press conference Miami Mayor Francis Suarez said, “A police officer is supposed to be impartial. Irrespective of who the person was, whatever sign it would have been, it would have been problematic.”

It was Miami-Dade Democratic party chair Steve Simeonidis who photographed Ubeda wearing his “Trump” mask at the polls and reported him.

“He may have been going to vote. But he was in full uniform with the mask and a gun. That’s voter intimidation,” Simeonidis told the Herald.
