Miami-Dade County Reports 314 New Cases, 37 More Deaths

The Florida Department of Health reported 314 new cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday, bringing the cumulative total of cases to 170,400.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Department of Health reported 314 new cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday, bringing the cumulative total number of cases in the county to 170,400.

The health department also reported 37 new coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the cumulative number of coronavirus-related deaths to 3,280. The total number of hospitalizations are currently at 7,792, with 41 non-residents hospitalized.

According to the data, the median age for positive cases in the county is 42, with 49 percent of cases in male patients and 51 percent of cases in female patients.

Statewide, the health department reported 706,516 coronavirus cases on Tuesday, with 44,108 resident hospitalizations. To date, there have been 14,317 resident deaths and 171 non-resident deaths, according to the data.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools will begin a staggered reopening on Monday, school officials voted on Tuesday following an emergency school board meeting.
