Missing Woman Found Naked In Storm Drain 3 Weeks Later: Report
While swimming in a canal, the woman entered a doorway in a shallow area, explored a tunnel and got lost in the sewer system for 3 weeks.
DELRAY BEACH, FL — A Delray Beach woman was found naked and stuck in a storm drain Tuesday after being reported missing nearly three weeks ago, CBS 12 News reported. She told authorities she became lost walking in the sewer system.
An individual passing by the storm drain, which is located near the intersection of West Atlantic Avenue and SW 11th Avenue, called 911 when they heard the woman yelling, Delray Beach Fire Rescue shared on Facebook.
DBFR’s Special Operations Team responded to the storm drain, which is about 8-feet deep. Crews removed a grate to access the drain and used a ladder and a harness to raise the woman up to the street as a crowd cheered them on, DBFR said.

Kennedy told police she went for a swim in a canal near her boyfriend’s home, reports said. While swimming, she found a doorway near a shallow area of the canal and entered it.
Curious, she followed a tunnel she found and got lost, walking around the sewer system for nearly 3 weeks, CBS 12 News reported. She said she began yelling when she saw people walking by the sewer drain at West Atlantic Avenue Tuesday morning.
"From the police department standpoint, we don’t believe there was any type of crime committed," Moschella told the South Florida SunSentinel. "It doesn’t feel like she was taken against her will. It appears this was done by her own free will."
She was brought to the hospital for a physical assessment and has since been released, reports said.
