Motorcyclist’s Body Found In Canal Days After Crash: FL Highway Patrol

The body of a Hollywood man was found in a canal days after he crashed his motorcycle on a SR 91 exit ramp, FL Highway Patrol said.

PLANTATION, FL — The body of a 40-year-old Hollywood man was found Saturday in a canal days after he crashed his motorcycle on a State Road 91 exit ramp, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The original crash happened Thursday just before 4:30 a.m. at the exit ramp to Sunrise Boulevard.

The driver’s body fell from the exit ramp into a canal that runs east and west during the crash, FHP said. His motorcycle came to a stop on the exit ramp.

Fire rescue crews and law enforcement responded to the scene, but didn’t find the motorcycle’s drive. At the time, they didn’t realize he had fallen into the canal, FHP said.

On Saturday, they responded to reports of a drowned person found in the canal under the exit ramp to Sunrise Boulevard.
