New York Woman Wins $1 Million In FL Lottery Scratch-Off Game
The woman bought the winning ticket while visiting her brother in South Florida and plans to pay off his house.
HOLLYWOOD, FL — A 57-year-old woman from Queensbury, New York claimed a $1 million prize from the 200X THE CASH scratch-off game, Florida Lottery said in a news release.
Dagmar Schmalhaus chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $890,000 from Florida Lottery’s headquarters in Tallahassee.
She purchased her winning ticket from Hollywood Discount Liquors at 1011 North Federal Highway in Hollywood while visiting her brother in South Florida. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Schmalhaus told Florida Lottery that she plans to use the money to help her brother.
"I bought the ticket while visiting my brother and forgot to scratch it until returning home to New York," she said. "Once I realized I won $1 million, I told myself the first thing I want to do is pay off my brother's house!"

200X THE CASH, a $20 game, launched in September. It features more than $46 million in cash prizes, including 10 top prizes of $5 million. The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.96.
