Newly Renovated AT&T Call Center to Result in 650 Local Jobs

The Advanced Customer Care Facility Boasts a Video Wall, Digital Whiteboards, VIP Room and More

AT&T is creating hundreds of jobs with the transformation of its Sunrise call center into a state-of-the-art facility. The nearly 104,000 square-foot building on W. Oakland Park Boulevard formerly housed 40 call center employees. Now it’s home to nearly 475 call center agents and managers. When Phase 3 of the renovation wraps up, the center will be home to about 650 employees.

The grand opening of the newly renovated call center was celebrated on Feb. 12 with local, state and community officials on hand.

“Sunrise is a great city to grow a business in Florida and demonstrates that we all win when we create a positive business climate for smart growth and good jobs,” said Mayor Mike Ryan. “AT&T’s investment in a state-of-the-art call center and creating jobs is evidence that Florida has business friendly policies and Sunrise has the right infrastructure.”

“Any City in any state would welcome the opportunity to create more than 600 jobs in their community and welcome a state-of-the-art call center,” said Enterprise Florida CEO Jamal Sowell. “This call center is a direct result of Florida’s elected leaders passing good public policies that encourage investment in our state.”

With the completion of Phase 3, AT&T plans to hire about another 175 agents and managers for the call center.

“Our goal is to deliver a platinum customer experience. And we believe that experience starts with our call center employees,” said Clarissa Laster, AT&T area manager, Sunrise call center. “What better way to deliver on our customer promise than to create an inspiring work environment with the latest tools for those who serve our customers.”
