MIAMI, FL — A 15-year-old is facing numerous charges in connection with the shooting death of a North Miami High School football quarterback, according to multiple reports.

Mekhi Stevenson, a 17-year-old junior at North Miami, was shot in the chest Tuesday at a home in the 100 block of Sierra Drive, CBS Miami and NBC Miami reported, citing police. He died at the scene.

Stevenson and his brother were in a room with four friends when one of the teens pulled out a gun to show everyone, CBS reported. The gun then went off as the teen pointed it at Stevenson.

Police on Wednesday said a 15-year-old juvenile was arrested on charges including manslaughter, possession of a firearm by a minor, and improper exhibition of a firearm, NBC reported. The teen was not identified because he has not been charged as an adult.

Police are still searching for three others connected to the shooting, according to CBS.
