1. Thousands in Miami are expected at the big bash at Bayfront Park, which includes a concert and a fireworks show for guests to enjoy. The park will open at noon on New Year's Eve and close at 2 a.m. There is no shortage of events to enjoy around South Florida as 2022 comes to a close. (CBS Miami)
2. A video of a young man appearing to be violently slammed to the ground by a Broward Sheriff's Office deputy has gone viral and is drawing public outcry. An investigation is now underway into the arrest. The officer placed 22-year-old Khalil Pace into a chokehold before slamming him to the ground. (WSVN)
3. City of Deerfield Beach is offering community support after the tragic shooting of a 16-year-old boy at a city park, who is now fighting for his life in the hospital. The incident happened around 5 p.m. at the Oveta McKeithen Recreational Complex located at 445 SW 2nd Street on Wednesday. (WPLG Local 10)
4. A South Florida dog store owner is being fined for dying a Pomeranian to look like Pikachu from Pokemon. The Pikachu dog drew the attention of Miami-Dade Animal Services after being featured at the Miami Heat basketball game on Monday. Miami-Dade Animal Services said they have issued 16 citations against World Famous Puppies since March 2021. (NBC Miami)
