Polish Man Arrested At Miami Concert For Stalking Katy Perry

A man who police say stalked pop singer Katy Perry was arrested Thursday for trying to enter a private backstage area

MIAMI, FL - A man who police say stalked pop singer Katy Perry was arrested Thursday morning for trying to enter a private backstage area during the singer’s Miami concert at American Airlines Arena. The man was identified as Pawel Leszek Jurski and he has been charged with aggravated stalking, escape, loitering and prowling and resisting an officer without violence. He remained in a Miami-Dade jail Thursday.

Jurski, who is from Poland, is in the United States on a tourist visa, police said. He is being held for immigration officials, according to jail records.

Jurski, 37, was told to stop after entering a backstage area during the concert, according to an arrest report. Instead, Miami Police officers arrested Jurski as he attempted to rush toward the stage, the report said.

“I will do whatever it takes to be with Katy Perry,” Jurski told police, according to the report. Perry’s security director told police Jurski attempted to climb to the 14th floor of a Miami Beach hotel last week to meet Perry. He was escorted off the property.

He also has shown up at other Perry concerts, including those in Tampa, Orlando, Atlanta and Chicago, police said.
