Possible Human Remains From 30 Years Ago Found In FL Lake: Report

Per a media report, the remains were found near Interstate 95 in a suspected 1980 vehicle that could have been damaged in a crash.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL — Human remains have possibly been found in an older model vehicle that had been submerged underwater in a lake near Interstate 95 and 45th Street for decades, according to a WESH 2 report.

Though the remains have not been confirmed to be human, the news outlet reported divers found the bones Friday in a suspected 1980s model vehicle that showed damage from a suspected crash and had been in the lake for at least 30 years.

“We don't know how the car wound up in the water,” Mike Jachles, West Palm Beach Police public information officer, told WESH 2. “But presumably, when that car went into the water several decades ago, none of what's behind us was here. It was just a lake and the interstate. Is it possible (it) could have traveled off of the interstate, whether it was accidental or intentional, or something else? That will all be part of the investigation.”
