Private School Goes Virtual After COVID-19 Outbreak: Report
High school students at Westminster Christian School in South FL will attend virtual classes after a COVID-19 outbreak following a retreat.
PALMETTO BAY, FL — After a handful of students contracted COVID-19 during an annual high school retreat held the second week of the 2021-22 school year, a South Florida private school has turned to virtual classes once again.
Nearly all of the 600 high school students who attend Westminster Christian School in Palmetto Bay attended the six-day retreat, which was held in Georgia, according to the Miami Herald.
Before leaving for the trip, which was held the week of Aug. 16, everyone attending submitted proof of a negative coronavirus test. Despite this, five students and one staff member tested positive for COVID-19 after they returned home, reports said.
