Sheriff’s Office Helicopter Crashes In Broward County: Officials

POMPANO BEACH, FL — Two people were hospitalized after a Broward County Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue helicopter crashed Monday morning near North Dixie Highway and Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach, authorities said.

Emergency personnel responded to an aircraft alert made southwest of the Pompano Beach Airpark around 8:45 a.m., the sheriff’s office wrote in a Facebook post.

Dixie Highway is shut down between Northeast Fifth Street and Northeast 10th Street. Drivers should avoid the area, the agency said.
