Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing On U.S. 27 In South FL: FHP
A small plane made an emergency landed Monday afternoon on U.S. 27, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

SOUTH FLORIDA — A small plane made an emergency landing in South Florida Wednesday afternoon, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The plane landed alongside FHP troopers on U.S. 27, near mile marker 39, around 3:30 p.m., the agency said.
The aircraft was occupied by a male pilot and an adult passenger.

The plane’s engine failed around 2,000 feet, according to FHP. The engine recently had maintenance done to it.
The Federal Aviation Administration responded to the scene and is the lead investigator.

No lanes are blocked on U.S. 27 as the plane was moved to a nearby boat ramp, FHP said.
