Trump National Doral: Watch Dramatic Video Of Gun Battle

Police released video of Friday's early morning gun battle in the lobby of the Trump National Doral Golf Club.

MIAMI, FL — Police released dramatic body camera video of Friday's early morning shootout at Trump National Doral Golf Club as the accused gunman made his first appearance Monday in a Miami courtroom. Forty-two-year-old Jonathan Oddi was charged with five counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer — one for each of the four Doral and one Miami-Dade police officers who confronted him after he allegedly opened fire in the lobby of the resort.

Oddi allegedly scaled a fence with a handgun, walked into the resort "spewing" comments about President Trump and opened fire at 1:35 a.m. Police said he pulled a fire alarm and draped an American flag over the reception desk before being shot multiple times by the five police officers. One officer also was injured during the incident, but the injury was not from a gunshot.

Oddi may have made matters worse for himself on Monday when he flashed five fingers through handcuffs to show Judge Mindy S. Glazer the number of police officers he allegedly confronted at gunpoint. He also corrected his public defender when the attorney tried to suggest that there was insufficient evidence to charge Oddi with setting off a fire alarm during the confrontation.

"I did push the alarm," Oddi acknowledged to chuckles in the courtroom.

"You know sir, everything is being recorded," Judge Glazer cautioned. "If you want to speak, it's fine. I'm happy to listen. Your attorney turned the microphone off though, probably a wise move."

Oddi was also charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, armed burglary with assault or battery, armed criminal mischief and armed grand theft.

Court documents said Oddi allegedly caused $30,000 worth of damage to the resort, including "computer equipment, paintings, furniture, windows, doors and glass decorations." He also allegedly pointed his weapon at an unarmed security guard.

"Sir, I'm ordering that you stay away from the Trump National Doral Hotel," Glazer warned Oddi, who was being held without bail.
