US Postal Service Resumes Deliveries, Opens Retail Locations
US postal officials said that mail service has resumed to most of South Florida while most branch locations have also reopened.

MIAMI, FL — The U.S. Postal Service said on Saturday it has resumed service to most South Florida locations and had reopened most of its branch locations. Officials suspended all services to South Florida from Fort Pierce to Key West ahead of Hurricane Irma's arrival last weekend. The first post-storm deliveries resumed on Tuesday.

"All major mail processing infrastructure is up and running and the mail is moving," Postal Service officials said. "Most of our Post Offices are open for business and we are delivering to homes and businesses, wherever it is safe and accessible to do so. We are committed to serving our customers in South Florida, as recovery from Hurricane Irma continues. All U.S. Postal Service retail locations were also shut down ahead of Irma. The decision to suspend mail service by the U.S. Postal Service did not affect deliveries by UPS or Federal Express.
