Child Porn Possession Case Lands Safari Park Zookeeper In Prison: DOJ

A former zookeeper at a safari adventure park in Palm Beach County has been sentenced to prison for child porn possession, the DOJ said.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — A zookeeper was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for child porn possession, the Department of Justice said in a news release.

Justin David Alban, 31, was sentenced by a federal district judge in Fort Lauderdale Tuesday. He was also given 15 years of supervised release.

Over 18 months between 2019 and 2020, Alban used an online peer-to-peer network to obtain child sexual abuse material, the DOJ said.

In 2020, law enforcement officers found the child pornography on Alban’s computers. At the time, he worked at a Palm Beach County safari adventure park.

On Oct. 15, 2020, he pled guilty to one count of possession of child pornography.
