2 Stabbed Outside South Beach Hotel

MIAMI BEACH, FL — A Texas man, who celebrated his 33rd birthday just days ago, was arrested on Sunday night in connection with a double stabbing outside the Colony Hotel. Delunte Burch was taken into custody at 8:45 p.m. The hotel is located at 736 Ocean Drive.

According to arrest documents, both victims were hotel employees. Burch had been sitting outside the nearby Boulevard Hotel with two other men, when witnesses said he allegedly accosted a woman walking along Ocean Drive.(Sign up for our free Daily Newsletters and Breaking News Alerts for the Miami Beach Patch.)

"As he tried to touch one female, the female pushed him and cursed at him," according to arrest documents.

Police said Burch allegedly picked a fight with a waitress and subsequently got into an altercation with the two employees, who intervened. One victim suffered cuts to his left forearm while the other was cut in his stomach area.

Burch was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and related offenses.
