Today's riddle: What do you call a belt that is made of watches? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. 'Worst I've seen it': Flooding still an issue in Miami Beach from high tide, rain (newsbreak.com) — Flooding from recent king tides and heavy rain left some Miami Beach residents wading through water just to reach laundry rooms and reportedly without power at the Sunshine Bay condo since Sunday. While water later receded, concerns remain about the next high tide and ongoing electrical issues, leaving neighbors trying to cope with repeated disruptions to daily routines.
2. Supporting Actor Job in Local Hospital Campaign Shoot, Patients, Female, Age 29-49 - Female Patient #2 (backstage.com) — Actors in Miami Beach can earn $500 for a half‑day supporting role in a local hospital photo and video campaign, portraying a concerned mom in a NICU consultation scene. The nonunion shoot will take place between October 19–22 mainly in Broward County, with overtime paid if work exceeds four hours.
3. 17-year-old who targeted pricey watches, including $11K Rolex, at South Florida gyms is in custody, police say (wsvn.com) — A 17-year-old accused of stealing expensive watches from Anatomy Gym locations, including one on Miami Beach's Lincoln Road, has been arrested after staff at another branch stalled him until police arrived. Miami Beach police say he carried a master locker key and allegedly targeted high-end jewelry, prompting gym owners and victims to urge locals not to bring pricey items to workouts.
4. This intimate Michelin-starred restaurant in Miami Beach is closing for good (miamiherald.com) — Miami Beach food lovers are losing a Michelin-starred option as the Tambourine Room by Tristan Brandt at the Carillon Miami Wellness Resort has closed, with Sept. 30 its final night of service. The resort says it's rethinking how the space can better serve both Carillon residents and the broader Miami community, while other Michelin-starred spots remain across the area.
5. After 5 years, this Spanish tapas restaurant and bar is closing on Miami Beach (miamiherald.com) — A well-loved Spanish-style tapas spot, Tropezon on Española Way in Miami Beach, is shutting its doors after five years.
