📰 News we're reading

• Woman accused of helping taxi driver target drunk Miami Beach clubgoers in thefts arrested (nbcmiami.com) — Police say a woman has been arrested for allegedly helping a taxi driver target intoxicated Miami Beach clubgoers, stealing their phones and using them for large fraudulent purchases, including cryptocurrency. Investigators link multiple late-night incidents across the city's entertainment district, with victims reporting possible drugging, disorientation, and missing devices later tied to high-dollar transactions and luxury thefts.

• Ken Griffin's Miami Beach helipad faces issues in wealthy area. What's next? (miamiherald.com) — Miami Beach officials have delayed a decision on Ken Griffin's proposed private helipad at his Terminal Island megayacht marina, giving his team another month to answer noise concerns from nearby condo residents. The Planning Board will revisit the issue on November 3, and if approved, the helipad plan would move to the full City Commission, potentially affecting quality of life along the MacArthur Causeway waterfront.

• Miami Beach Holiday Festival of Lights 12/12/26, 12/13/26, 12/19/26, 12/20/26 (soulofmiami.org) — Families in Miami Beach can look forward to a free Holiday Festival of Lights at The Betsy Hotel on Ocean Drive, featuring live orchestra performances and high-tech projection shows. Across four December evenings, residents can enjoy concerts, a city-sponsored holiday drone show, beloved characters like Santa and the Grinch, and even a bit of 'snow' right on South Beach.
