1. Add These October Events to Your Calendar (modernluxury.com) — Miami Beach is about to host a packed October, from Billboard Latin Music Week at the Faena Forum and a South Beach Seafood Festival dinner at Rao's and Macchialina to the #NextGen Creators summit on Collins Avenue. Around the city, you can also catch Miami Fashion Week, fitness and film festivals, a James Beard culinary evening, LEAP's gala, and a massive Halloween music lineup.
2. Terra Lands $507M Loan for 1250 West Avenue Luxury Condos on Biscayne Bay in Miami Beach (cremarketbeat.com) — A massive new 28-story luxury condo tower is planned for 1250 West Avenue on Biscayne Bay, backed by a $507 million construction loan and bringing 106 high-end residences plus ground-floor retail to Miami Beach's west side. Developer Terra, already behind Five Park and the under-construction Grand Hyatt by the Convention Center, is rapidly reshaping the city's skyline and waterfront living options.
3. Echo of Acclaimed Miami Artist's Work in Venice Reverberates at Betsy Hotel (artburstmiami.com) — Miami Beach residents can explore a free, 24-hour exhibition of about 30 works by acclaimed Miami-based artist Edouard Duval-Carrié at The Betsy Hotel on Ocean Drive, running through November 15, 2026. The show, tied to his appearance at the Venice Biennale, fills hotel galleries and the Betsy Orb with vivid pieces rooted in Haitian history, Vodou symbolism, and environmental themes, plus talks and community programs.
4. Bond Was No Barrier: How a Miami Man Ran a Meth Deal From House Arrest and Earned 147 Months Behind Bars (newsbreak.com) — A Miami-based drug trafficker has been sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison after running cocaine and meth deals, even while on home confinement, in a case investigated with help from Miami Beach Police. Prosecutors say the operation involved over a kilogram of cocaine and untraceable ghost guns, and that his bond-violation meth deal led to an even stiffer sentence, signaling a tougher regional stance on armed dealers.
