Fontainebleau Hotel Shooting Leaves 2 Wounded
The shooting occurred outside the iconic Fontainebleau Hotel on Collins Avenue.

(Story updated at 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday) MIAMI BEACH, FL — A man and woman were shot on Sunday night outside the iconic Fontainebleau Hotel. The shooting occurred shortly before 9 p.m. But the gunman was still at large as of Tuesday morning.
"Miami Beach PD is looking for one black male subject last seen wearing all dark colored clothing who fled from the scene on foot," Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police Department told Patch on Monday afternoon. "We do not believe the female victim had any involvement in the events that transpired nor is it believed she is known to the victim."
The female victim, who was identified as 27-year-old Mona Founceha of Aventura, was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition with a single gunshot wound. The male victim, who was identified as 33-year-old Victor Donte Young, Jr. from Oakland, Calif., was taken to Jackson's Ryder Trauma Center with multiple gunshot wounds in critical condition. Rodriguez did not say whether the victims were guests at the hotel or whether they were on hotel property for some other reason.

Police set up a perimeterer from 41 Street to 44 Street and between Indian Creek Drive, Collins Avenue and the beach.
Traffic was also diverted for a time as police used helicopters, K-9 units and a SWAT team to search for the suspect.
