Man Charged With Torturing Fiance Who Forgot Purse in Uber

MIAMI BEACH — A 25-year-old Miami Beach man with two artificial limbs was charged with sexual battery and other offenses after his fiance told police she was held against her will for two weeks, beaten, tortured and forced to have sex as part of a bizarre punishment for accidentally leaving her purse in an Uber.

Evan Xavier Little of the 900 block of West Avenue was also charged by Miami Beach police with false imprisonment with a deadly weapon, sexual battery on a helpless victim and a probation violation.

Police said he denied all of the allegations.

The woman told police that the ordeal took place in January but she had been afraid to come forward until she summoned the courage to walk into the Miami Beach police headquarters on Sunday afternoon.

Little was taken into custody within an hour of the woman telling her story to police.

"The defendant became enraged with the victim because she had left her purse inside of a Uber vehicle," according to arrest documents. "The defendant had purchased the purse as a gift for her."

Little is accused of beating his fiancee with a suitcase, golf club and his own fists.

"The defendant then used pliers and pulled some of her acrylic nails off her," arrest documents state. "The victim attempted to leave the apartment, but the defendant grabbed her by her hair and started to choke her with his hands."

Arrest documents also accuse Little of using a knife and other means to keep his girlfriend in the apartment for the approximately 14-day period.

"The victim attempted to leave the apartment but the defendant grabbed her by her hair and started to choke her with his hands," the arrest documents said. "The victim stated that during the two weeks she was held against her will by the defendant, he drugged her and he had non-consensual sex with her."

Police said the woman had "visible bruising" to her legs and scratches on her abdomen.
