Man Suffers Schizophrenic Episode, Goes Missing
Police are asking for the public's help in locating Alex Ivery of Springville, NY

MIAMI BEACH, FL — A 20-year-old New York man experienced a schizophrenic episode while visiting a Miami Beach hotel on Wednesday and has been missing ever since. Police are asking for the public's help in locating Alex Ivery of Springville. He was last seen leaving the 1400 block of Collins Avenue in a vehicle.
Ivery was with his 23-year-old sister, Alexis, at the time of the incident around 3 p.m. (Sign up for our free Daily Newsletters and Breaking News Alerts for the Miami Beach Patch.)
"Ms. Ivery stated she was not able to [catch] up to her brother and lost sight of him," according to a report filed with the Miami Beach Police Department. "Mr. Ivery has not returned to the hotel where they were staying."

Police checked area hospitals and the jail system but have not been able to locate Ivery.

He is described as a dark-skinned African-American, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 120 pounds with a square-shaped head.
Police said Ivery walks with a twisting motion and has a pronounced curvature of his spine. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and blue pants.
