Miami Beach Cat Tortured With Dart or Arrow

MIAMI BEACH, FL — A cat was tortured with pieces of a dart or arrow and left to die in an area of South Beach that is near a number of popular restaurants and bars, according to police. The animal was found on Wednesday. It was later euthanized.

The cat was found shortly before 9 a.m. in the 800 block of Collins Court, not far from tourist favorite Ocean Drive. (Sign up for our free Daily Newsletters and Breaking News Alerts for the Miami Beach Patch.)

"The caller observed a beige cat with what appeared to be an arrow or dart lodged through its head and neck," explained Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police Department.

"The cat was immediately transported to a local veterinarian where unfortunately it had to be euthanized due to the severity of its injuries," he added.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the person or persons responsible for torturing the animal.
