Miami Beach Ciclovía: Hurricane Irma Forces Postponement
BREAKING: Washington Avenue from 5 to 16 streets was to be blocked off to vehicles and become a paved park.

MIAMI BEACH, FL — Miami Beach Ciclovía was scheduled for Sunday and Washington Avenue from 5 to 16 streets was to become a paved park so people could stroll, cycle, skateboard, rollerblade and experience Miami Beach.
But Hurricane Irma swept through the city Sunday and left officials no choice but to postpone the event.
The city extended a midnight curfew through Thursday and some residents remain without power. Residents were allowed to return from a mandatory evacuation beginning Tuesday. Many residents have not yet returned.
