Miami Boat Show Opens Second Year in New Location

This year's show features more than 1,300 boats on land and in the water. 

MIAMI BEACH — The Miami International Boat Show kicked off at 10 a.m. Thursday for the second year in its new location.

The show moved last year from the Miami Beach Convention Center to the iconic Miami Marine Stadium Park & Basin at 3501 Rickenbacker Causeway in Miami.

“We’ve gone to even greater lengths with this year’s show and have added more boats, engines and marine accessories, enhanced the food and beverage offerings, and improved the transportation options,” said Ben Wold, show manager. “The best way to get to the show is to park at one of our designated lots downtown and take a shuttle bus or water taxi over to the show. All the water taxi and shuttle bus stops can be found at MiamiBoatShow.com.”

This year's show features more than 1,300 boats on land and in the water with more than 550 slips; closed and open-air tented exhibit space for marine accessories, electronics, engines, nautical gifts, apparel and services.

The event will also have on-the-water boating workshops as part of a Discover Boating Hands-On Skills Training courses.

"In addition, boat exhibitors will offer sea trials, allowing serious buyers the chance to test drive more than 200 different boats," an event spokesperson told Patch.

Ticket costs are higher on Thursday, which is considered the premiere day. The cost is $40 on Thursday for anyone 16 and older. Children under 15 are free.

The prices are lower between Friday and Monday, the final day of the show. Attendees can buy a tw0-day pass good between Friday and Monday for $45 and a five-day pass good for the entire show for $100. Children under 15 are free on all days.

"For anyone even remotely interested in boating or the outdoors, this is the place to be in Miami this weekend,” Wold added. “There is something for everyone and a boat for every interest and budget.”
