South Beach Gas Station Robbed By Man In Red Sox Hat

MIAMI BEACH, FL — Police are asking for the public's help in finding a bandit wearing a Red Sox hat who robbed a South Beach gas station early Wednesday morning. The robbery occurred around 3:30 a.m. at the Marathon gas station, 945 5th Street.

Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police Department said that two men arrived at the gas station in a black two-door, Toyota Solara but only the driver went inside.

He could be seen on video heading to the register with a drink in hand as if he were going to pay.

"He then pulls out a firearm, points it at the cashier demanding money," according to Rodriguez, who said that the thief repeated his demand in Spanish.

"The subject, a white Hispanic male wearing a Red Sox hat, returns to the vehicle and drives away with an unknown amount of money," Rodriguez added.
