• Milton Fire Department receives grant to purchase life-saving equipment (wkrg.com) — Milton residents should know their fire department just secured a $25,195 grant to buy new hydraulic rescue tools that can free people from crashed vehicles more quickly and safely. Funded by the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and supported by the local Milton restaurant, the equipment upgrade is meant to strengthen emergency response across the community.
   

• 2 men killed in three-vehicle crash (miramarflnews.com subscription) — Two men from DeFuniak Springs were killed in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday morning at U.S. 90 and State Road 285, while a Milton woman and her passenger in an SUV were not injured. The Florida Highway Patrol says a pickup turned into the path of an oncoming semitrailer, triggering the deadly chain-reaction collision.
