19 Arrested In New Port Richey Prostitution Sweep

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Nineteen people, including a retired Chicago police officer, face charges after New Port Richey Police conducted a daytime crackdown on prostitution Friday.

According to the agency, operation “Clean Sweep” took place along the U.S. 19 corridor between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Friday. All of those arrested were men. They ranged in age from their early 20s to late 70s.

“We focused on getting the ‘Johns’ through the use of female undercover police officers,” an email from the agency stated. Further details about how the operation was conducted were not released.

According to the police department, the following people were arrested during the sweep:

Joshua Douglas, 35, Palm Harbor

• Charges: Solicitation of Prostitution, Fleeing to Elude, Habitual Driving While License Suspended, Writ of Bodily Attachment – Warrant

Kenneth Boesch, 69, New Port Richey

• Charges: Solicitation of Prostitution

Gerald Burkart, 76, Holiday

• Charges: Solicitation of Prostitution

Michael Ponce, 31, New Port Richey

• Charges: Solicitation of Prostitution

Neal Logue, 77, New Port Richey (Retired Chicago Police Officer)

• Charges: Solicitation of Prostitution, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia

Carl Jenkins, 69, Bonners Ferry, Idaho

• Charges: Solicitation of Prostitution

Axel Feliciano Velazquez, 40, Orlando
