19-Year-Old Hit, Killed By Car While Walking On SR-54: Police
The New Port Richey man was walking eastbound on the highway when he was hit just west of Rowan Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
PASCO COUNTY, FL — A 19-year-old man was fatally struck by a car while walking on SR-54 in Pasco County early Tuesday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the New Port Richey man was walking eastbound in a travel lane around 4:20 a.m. when he was hit just west of Rowan Road by a car driving in the same direction
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. It's unclear why he was walking on the highway.

The driver of the car — a 27-year-old woman from Holiday — suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
